Semarang, March 12, 2025 – Shintya Arlita Dewi, a student of the Logistics Management and Administration program at the Vocational School of Universitas Diponegoro, has successfully been awarded the Bank Indonesia (BI) scholarship for two periods (2024/2025 and 2025/2026). The Bank Indonesia scholarship is given to outstanding students who excel academically, actively engage in social activities, and demonstrate strong leadership potential. This scholarship is offered by Bank Indonesia, the central bank of the Republic of Indonesia.
The selection process involved several rigorous stages, starting with an administrative document review, which included a Motivation Letter, CV, and Recommendation Letter from academic or non-academic figures, followed by an in-depth interview process. During this phase, candidates had to meet specific criteria, such as maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale), being no older than 23 years or under 24 years old at the time of being selected for the scholarship, not receiving any other scholarships from different institutions, and being actively involved in social activities that have a positive impact on society.
“Of course, each step requires strategy, effort, and prayers. One strategy for crafting the motivation letter is to highlight your abilities in line with your capabilities, be honest, and avoid exaggerating, so that it appears unique and appealing. Provide brief details of your organizational experience and achievements. Then, before the interview session, ensure that you understand Bank Indonesia and its policies, as well as the topics that may be discussed. During the interview, make sure to dress neatly (or in accordance with the specified dress code) and appear confident in front of the interviewers. Give honest, critical, clear (without being convoluted), and innovative answers. After the interview phase, candidates will wait for the announcement, which will be made a few months later, either on their university’s website or the official GenBI social media accounts,” Shintya shared her tips and strategies for navigating the Bank Indonesia scholarship selection process.
The Bank Indonesia scholarship not only provides financial support for education, study allowances, and living expenses, but it also offers the opportunity to join the Generasi Baru Indonesia (GenBI) community. GenBI is a platform that provides access to various soft-skill training programs, leadership development, self-development, and professional networks aimed at shaping future leaders. Through GenBI, awardees can participate in various training programs, seminars, and social activities designed to enhance individual competencies and build leadership character, such as Public Speaking Certification by BNSP, GenBI Muda X GenBI Awards, GenBI Mengajar, GenBI’s Village Program, UMKM GenBI Mentorship, GenBI Got Talent, and many other activities.
As a dedication to GenBI and Bank Indonesia, recipients of the Bank Indonesia scholarship are expected to actively contribute as agents of change, bringing positive impacts to society. They are encouraged to be at the forefront of Bank Indonesia’s efforts, contribute effectively, and participate fully in all Bank Indonesia and GenBI activities. This experience serves as a valuable preparation for becoming competent and ethical future leaders.
Other students from the Logistics Management and Administration program who have also received the Bank Indonesia scholarship include Luthan Maulana (MAL 2022), Muhammad Ulin Nuha (MAL 2023), and Mifftavadine Naomiasyiffa (MAL 2023). Undoubtedly, achieving such an accomplishment is no easy feat and requires effort, sacrifice, and effective time management. The hope is that their journeys will inspire other students in the Logistics Management and Administration program to pursue similar opportunities. With thorough preparation and high dedication, the Bank Indonesia scholarship can serve as a gateway to broader self-development and help create a brighter future for Indonesia.
