Nantes, France – Noval Aulia Rahman, a student of the Logistics Management and Administration (MAL) program at Diponegoro University, had an extraordinary experience while participating in the International Internship and Study Mobility Abroad (IISMA) 2024 program. This program took him to École Supérieure du Bois (ESB) in Nantes, France, a renowned institution focused on wood-based logistics, circular economy, and industry collaboration.**

“This opportunity has been truly unforgettable. I feel very fortunate to have been selected and learned so much, not only academically but also through cultural experiences,” said Noval.

Studying and Collaborating at ESB

During his time at ESB, Noval delved into various courses designed to enhance his expertise in logistics and administration. He was also involved in collaborative projects with both local and international students, a challenge that sharpened his multicultural teamwork skills.

In addition, Noval had the chance to visit major companies such as ISB (Innovation & Solution Bois) and GCB (Gilbert Construction Bois), where he directly learned about logistics processes, procurement, and the use of heavy machinery in the wood industry. “These visits provided deep insights into how green logistics concepts are applied on a large scale,” he added.

**Introducing Indonesia to the World**

As part of the IISMA community, Noval actively promoted Indonesian culture in France. Along with other students, he introduced the history, traditional games, and culinary delights of Indonesia to his international peers at ESB. “Seeing their enthusiasm for our culture was a truly proud moment,” he said.

**The Future and Hopes**

This learning experience in France has changed Noval’s perspective on global logistics. He hopes to bring his knowledge and experiences back to Indonesia to contribute to the development of a more sustainable logistics industry in the country.

“A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for,” Noval quoted, describing his courage to take on challenges and step out of his comfort zone.

With support from various parties, Noval’s journey through the IISMA program has become an inspiration for other students to seize international opportunities and further elevate Indonesia’s presence on the global stage.
