Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Adelta Purnama Sari, a student of Logistics Management and Administration at Diponegoro University, recently represented Indonesia as a delegate in the International Youth Excursion Network held across Singapore and Malaysia. In this prestigious international youth exchange program, Adelta presented an innovative digital concept: a Community Empowerment-Based Tourism Platform, an idea that integrates village tourism potential with community-driven technology.
The program brought together youth delegates from various countries and included a series of educational and cultural immersion activities. One of the highlights was a study visit to the Singapore Institute of Management, where participants engaged in discussions on leadership development and social innovation in the digital era. The itinerary continued with a visit to Universiti Malaya, one of Southeast Asia’s top universities, exploring academic perspectives on library management and the role of youth in community transformation.
As part of the Malaysia Cultural Exchange Exploration held at the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC), Adelta took the stage to present Indonesia’s rich local culture, advocating for community-based tourism as a vehicle not only for economic growth but also for cultural preservation and empowerment of rural communities.
“Through this platform, we aim to connect travelers with authentic, community-based experiences where local residents are not just supporting players, but central actors who directly benefit from tourism activities,” Adelta stated during her presentation.
Thanks to their strong collaboration and compelling presentation, Adelta’s team earned a nomination for Best Team, a testament to the international recognition of Indonesian youth’s enthusiasm and contribution in raising local issues through a global approach.
This experience marks a significant milestone in Adelta’s journey as an aspiring young leader. She hopes her platform will continue to grow and serve as a bridge connecting Indonesia’s tourism villages with global markets, while upholding the values of local wisdom and community empowerment.
